Yay, it's done!

After two versions of the forum on Forumactif for the last ten years, the RIdPEF has finished moving in Switzerland last week-end.

For now on, the forum is available at the following address : https://forum.ridpef.org/
To connect, you will need to set a new password, that you can retrieve if you click on this link.

As it was announced, the forum has been updated from phpbb2 to phpbb3 on the same occasion. This change has required a whole rewrite of the template code, which Trèsmollo has lead with courage and strength for two months this winter. Moreover, the pages display is far quicker, and ads are gone for good.

The migration itself has gone smoothly, from saturday morning to sunday evening. Zhao, Trèsmollo and I (Mjollnà) have gathered IRL to do so, to make it easier and more friendly. Although we've had some scary moments due to some little problems with the database import script, everything has gone in order little by little. At 4am on sunday, the fifth try has been a success. A few hours of sleep later, we've set parameters in order to re-open the forum, and migrated manually the 574 profiles email addresses which couldn't have been exported. Some technical cleaning is still needed here and there, to support some more tags, but overall everything is working :)

Regarding the content, the sub-forums have been reorganised, to offer a cleaner display. For example, resumes can also be used for personal introductions.

Furthermore, a section dedidacted to videogames other than Wow has been addded, to share our experiments in other universes than Wow. This part of the forum will allow to emphasise more easily the activity of the RIdPEF Minecraft server. Several members have also organised muti-player events on various games, or wanted to introduce videogames related topics in articles. Finally, the member profiles now contain a BattelTag field, and a part to write a small roleplay portrait of your character.
